City of Tyler Neighborhood Services Center

When we were approached to design the Neighborhood Services Center, the City of Tyler wanted a welcome friendly building. They wanted to create a building that was easily accessible to pedestrians in the downtown area. This helped to determine the location directly across the street from City Hall.

An important element in the design was to bring in natural light while remaining a secure structure. The entry is an arched covered portico with seating creating a natural focal point for pedestrians. The implementation of mixed glass block styles created a beautiful accent to the grandeur of the entry and waiting area. Wood accents throughout the building truly make this a unique service center that has been adapted to its downtown setting.
